She received the 2017 Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry Grant for the research project: “Analysis and assessment of pulp vitality in intrinsically stained teeth in dogs”. She is a member of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Feigin was a Visiting Veterinarian at Angell Memorial Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Her educational background also includes a post graduate clinical program, followed by a small animal internship at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Cyril and Methodius (Skopje, Macedonia) in 2001. She joined our team in 2016 but had worked as a small animal veterinarian for over ten years, prior to becoming an associate at Veterinary Dental Services. She is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College and the European Veterinary Dental College, and is currently serving on the AVDC’s Exam Committee. Kristina Feigin is a Board Certified Veterinary Dentist™. She especially enjoys the outdoors, skiing, and road and mountain biking.ĭr. Shope is passionate about veterinary dentistry and is guided by her goal to make all of her patient’s mouth’s “free of infection, free of pain, and one that can be maintained.” When not working she enjoys spending time with her kids, husband, and Portuguese water dog, Annie. She enjoys teaching, and in an effort to broaden awareness about veterinary dentistry, welcomes veterinary students, technicians and veterinarians to job-shadow in the practice.ĭr. She recently recognized an inherited form of enamel dysplasia in the Samoyed dog, and worked with genetic researchers to confirm this and develop a genetic test. She is a member of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and contributes on the board of reviewers for the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry. From 2002-2007 she also worked as a clinical assistant professor of dentistry at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. In her early career, she practiced small animal medicine and surgery, then joined Veterinary Dental Services in 2000. Shope frequently lectures to veterinary professionals and the public on subjects related to dentistry in animals. She completed a residency program in dentistry and oral surgery in 2008.ĭr. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University in 1991. She is a past Chair of the College’s Examination Committee, and the Training Support Committee. She is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College, and is currently serving as the President-elect. Shope is a Board Certified Veterinary Dentist™.
